In this video, you can see a great example of why we all need to claim our profiles on these sites.
Google is giving weight to the content on these doctor rating sites – that’s clear. This means they feel like searchers (potential patients) are benefiting by seeing these results.
Ten results are displayed on the first page of Google. You want your name or practice to come up in as many of those slots as possible when someone types in search phrases related to your services.
As you can see from the video, Google is pulling in a generic “hand surgeons in Fayetteville” search result in one of those prime slots – from avvo.com.
Clicking on that result takes you to a page where I’m evidently the only hand surgeon in the area, even though there are three guys in my area (we’re all partners!).
Because I’m the only guy with a profile on that website, I’m the only one that shows up.
Check to see if your competitors are doing this already.
Part of your practice marketing plan should involve making sure your profiles are filled out on all the most popular doctor rating sites.
This functionally puts you on the first page of Google without spending a dime of marketing money!
You can find a list of these sites in my free Guide to Doctor Rating Sites.
